This striking plant sends up a cluster of grasslike leaves early in spring that culminate in delicate three-petaled deep-purple flowers. Lovely paired with Golden Alexanders, which bloom at approximately the same time. Spiderwort's leaves sometimes flop to the ground later in the season, so surround it with other flowers in the garden or stage it in the back of the bed. Blooms Nice in a rain garden.
