This lush wetland sedge produces attractive light-green seedheads resembling a squat, spiky bottlebrush. Host plant for several butterflies. Tolerates temporary flooding. Good choice for a rain garden. Sedges (and grasses) were the onetime preferred food for Michigan mammoths.
